In addition to his unique blend of massage therapy, Michael Hayes is also pleased to provide massage instruction not only to massage students and practitioners, but also to couples desiring better physical and emotional connection.
In his educational training designed for professionals, Michael focuses on introducing students to Thai massage techniques using the massage table. Traditional Thai massage is performed on the floor, requiring the massage therapist to place their weight on the ankles in a squatting position. This is a frequently fatiguing position for Western practitioners unaccustomed to this lower center of gravity. Michael's training provides massage therapists and students an effective way to utilize Thai massage techniques in the more familiar setting of the massage table. You will also learn ways to mix modalities such as Swedish, Medical, Thai Reflexology, and Thai massage more easily than when limited by the floor.
Focusing also on body mechanics, Michael helps practitioners learn how to use their bodies more efficiently to protect and extend the longevity of their joints. The natural extension of this training in turn can increase the longevity of one's massage practice.
Michael's couples training focuses on the healing and emotionally connecting aspects of massage. His teaching includes Swedish massage techniques that enable partners to provide satisfying mutual massages.
Explains Michael, "Couples often complain that their partner either massages too hard or too light. And also that their hands and wrists tire and become sore quickly." This unique training allows couples to find ways of giving and receiving touch that satisfies both partners and minimizes the likelihood of soreness.
This special teaching also makes an excellent gift!
