Thai Reflexology

What is Thai Reflexology?

thai reflexologyGenuine reflexology is the application of pressure onto particular areas of the soles of the feet. A reflex action in another part of the body is stimulated by the manipulation of each specific area. Unlike other massages that use the practitioner's thumbs, palms, hands, elbows, knees and/or feet, foot reflexology massage uses only the practitioners hands, fingers and a wooden stick with cream and oil.

According to Chinese medicine, the sensory nerves of the internal organs that spread throughout the body are mainly gathered around the soles of the feet. Therefore, the massage is very effective in stimulating the functions of the internal organs.

Another advantage of this therapy is that there is no risk. Expert masseurs will deal with the critical points on the feet with utmost care. The pain felt there will disappear when the masseur finishes the process.

How does Thai Reflexology work?

thai reflexologyThe sensors in the feet that are connected to the arteries, veins and nerves are stimulated by the massage therapist using strong pressure, movement and stretching. A "reflex" action then takes place in targeted areas of the body. In essence, the body is worked through the feet.

Who benefits from reflexology?

thai reflexologyClients have reflexology sessions for issues ranging from stress and its symptoms, digestive issues, mental and emotional problems, recovering from stroke, neck shoulder and back problems, asthma and breathing/lung issues, organ disease, and other dis-eases.

A great way to explore reflexology is to take a tennis ball and freely roll it under one of your feet. This stimulates the whole body and you can feel some of the effects. That is just a very small version of the experience of reflexology.
